I’m a Bootcamp Instructor!

Posted 8/28/2009 by Gina

That’s me all the way to the right!

Hello all you ExerciseTV buddies. It has been a few long summer months since the MMO program has ended for the four of us and I wanted to give you all an update on how things are going. Summer- well in my area summer means lake, pool, BBQ’s and a cold drink! It was great to be thinner and feel comfortable in my summer wear, but the food and drinks were very tempting. I have gained 7 lbs but feel good that I have kept up with my workout routine.

This experience has helped me find confidence to get back to what it is that I love…Teaching fitness again. I have organized a local Boot Camp. You can take a look at some of the workouts, videos and comments on my facebook page “Orcutt Summer Boot Camp”. It has been very rewarding and has kept me focused on how great it is to be fit. Below is a picture of the group.

I have also had a great opportunity to work with the ExerciseTV crew on a workout video with the girls and our main man Steve. You will all love the workout so keep your eyes open for it on your VOD.

The girls and I have made a commitment to each other to lose weight for another 12 weeks so look for more updates from us and feel free to ask questions or join us on our journey!

Changing it up

Posted 4/22/2009 by Gina

I had a great opportunity to change things up a bit. A good friend of mine invited me to workout with her at The Pit in Arroyo Grande. It was a blast and everyone was great! Here are some videos of the workout.

People are changing with me!

Posted 4/2/2009 by Gina

It is very exciting to be making a positive change in your life that it almost becomes contagious.  People are asking what I am having for lunch, checking in to see how much weight I had lost the week before, or being the cheering (or police) group when I go for the chocolate stash.

I want to share a “feel good” story with you! At our office we have many relationships with other businesses.  One of whom is our favorite mobile notary, and she likes to leave us little tokens of appreciation like a candy bar or her yummy homemade cinnamon rolls.

I have been sharing with her my story about ExerciseTV and eDiets, and she has been a great supporter.  Well, the other day I was helping out the staff and had not been able to go to my desk all day.  I saw that the others in the office got a box of Hot Tamales from her and I knew I wouldn’t eat them so I was planning on giving them to my daughter or to the other girls.  To my surprise she had left me this package of SUGARFREE gum with a nice note saying she new I would enjoy these.

It was so nice to have someone understand and be there for you in support.  Thank you Sheryl!

Are you just starting out?

Posted 3/31/2009 by Gina

Before/Week 7

I had a great day yesterday. It seemed every where I went someone had a complement for me. It felt great. I also had two of my good friends to workout with at the gym. One of whom is so impressed, her husband and she are purchasing the eDiets food delivery program to prepare for their trip to Aruba.

This morning I was on my spin bike and thinking about the first couple of weeks. Boy that was so hard. I felt tiered, sore (I remember almost crying because my butt hurt so bad on my spin bike), hungry, grumpy, and excited at the same time. I was thinking about all the times I had “started” a fitness program. 3-4 days of success followed by 2-3 months of falling off the wagon. I would have to get myself geared up to TRY again. I would read magazines, looking up things on the internet, reading posts from successful people. I would do well until I would slip up or have a bad day. What is different now? Now I have a commitment. I have mad my mind up that I will not give up. Yes I have missed a workout. Yes I have eaten of course. And Yes I have had bad days but I have not given up! I will continue to be committed!

Are you just starting out? Feeling like you want to quit…DON”T. It will get easier. It will become part of your life. You will start having more energy. You will have small changes every day and before you know it those small changes will multiply! It is literally ONE STEP AT A TIME! I won’t lie…It is hard, but once you get past the beginning stages it is something you cannot live without! I will be happy to be her for you along with the other MMO gals and the sources from ExerciseTV and eDiets. Become accountable. Join the community room you can keep in touch with us! You can do it!

My Slacks Are Loose

Posted 3/25/2009 by Gina

I’ve dropped a dress size and my size 14 pants are already loose. Here’s a view from head to toe.

So while I am working out I always think of great things to blog about. I get myself all pumped and have a fantastic workout then once I am done…I am done. Shower and all I can think about is – bed-sleep-workout in the morning.

So I thought I would right a blog on all the things that is keeping me focused on this wonderful journey.

Food: I have it a bit easier than most people. (Well that is if you view this glass half empty I suppose) I LOVE food. Oatmeal, muffins, eggs, chicken, pork, fish, veggies, well yeah everything! I have found a few things on the menu at eDiets that I do not prefer, but if I got them as a substitute I would be just fine. I love spicy so I make my own salsa and put it just about on everything. I know that the food delivery is working for me so I am not so temped to eat out. I have had a few opportunities but I have made sure to stay in my calorie limit.

Workouts: I am having a blast! I love the challenges. I look forward to every Saturday and just when I think I will take an easy day, like tonight, I get a second wind and finish strong. I was thinking to myself tonight what was it that made me want to do one more VOD? The small results that I can see. Like: completing the bicycle crunches (but I do have to say I still grunt), or felling the triceps kick on my shirt while I flex them, or taking off my size 16 jeans without unbuttoning them. (Tuccoa, those should be on their way!) I blogged Monday about the MMM Paragomi class that I took. OMG…YEAAHH! I felt like I had been taking the class for months. It was more like a conditioning class. The warm up was jumping jacks for 5 minutes! 10 one minute sets with 30 sec break of pushups, burpies, and jabs. Girls you thought I was sweaty on Saturday…I was a shower on Monday! I felt the pushups this morning…HELLO PECKS! One thing that I can say, I find the class setting to be more motivating for me. There was no way I was going to stop with all those people there!

Goals: Yes I want to loose weight but why. I could be perfectly happy the way I am. Well I have many things that I want that come with being a healthy fit person. My number one goal- I want to teach again. (Those of you in Santa Maria watch out…I’m coming back!) I can’t wait to have my first spin class. I ride here in my little room and practice as though you were all here with me.

So we are more than half way and I took a picture to show my success!

Me on day One.

Me on day One.

Me on 1st day of week 5.

Me on 1st day of week 5.

The change may appeare small but it feels “GYNORMIS”

My workout plan for today

Posted 3/16/2009 by Gina

So we have a new workout structure for this week.  We get to pick 90 min of any kind of workout we want.  Here is what I have planned for today.

AM:  sleep in- well okay it wasn’t planned

PM:  30 day shred 3  and a class at the new MMM Paragomi.  Kickboxing studio.

I will be sure to share how it went!

My highlight of the day:  I was at an office today talking with the receptionist and an Agent came running to the front.  She said she heard me talking and wanted to come see me because she had heard about my weight loss.  She was so sweat, “Gina, this is so great.  I could eat my box of chocolates last week because it made me feel guilty that you were working so hard.  You look fantastic.”

Okay so I am riding on cloud nine for maybe another day!
