Hello everyone! Happy Fall! As one of the Make Me Over girls from this Spring I was able to participate in something absolutely amazing - not just the whole Make Me Over program with ExerciseTV and eDiets, but also make a workout video with our fantabulous trainer Steve Maresca. It comes out soon so watch for it - I can’t wait to see how we look!Â
Summer was interesting. I’ve been doing OK since MMO ended. I’m still working out and I’ve been watching my calories. My summer was pretty sedentary so it was a hard time to lose weight. All in all, I maintained at 196 - which is better than the past 30 summers! I tried to weigh myself 2-3 times a week so I could watch my weight; if I was gaining, I moved more and (tried to) eat less. I have also started planning out my whole day’s worth of food the night before - this has helped me stay pretty close to my calorie goal. If I don’t eat my plan, I still write it down. Sometimes just seeing the number I ate makes me think twice the next time that situation comes up. It’s all about awareness people! I was also completely addicted to Jillian Michael’s Sunday morning radio show podcasts. I learned A LOT about exercise, nutrition, behavior, and overall body health -she is very knowledgeable, motivating, and kick a$$! (Past podcasts are on iTunes - search “KFI Sundays”)
I’m still slowly “training” for the half marathon in Indianapolis in May 2010. I did a 5K on July 4th (see pic below) and finished in 42 minutes. I am doing another 5K on Labor Day and my goal is 40 minutes (or less!).Â
Motivation is still a bit hard for me but some friends of mine have been a great support for me (thanks Catherine and Becky!) and we work out together and are accountable to each other. The Make Me Over girls and I are also going to be reconnecting for the next few months to get each other motivated and back on track - sometimes life just gets in the way, but friends can always bring you back! So, if you are looking for motivation, find a friend who is really serious and will really support you in making good decisions - NOT the friend who will order pizza with you and ditch working out!Â
Every day is a new day - You can always start NOW.Â
Love to all - Rochelle
