Hi everyone!
Today my husband and I are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. man, the time flies by so fast. We’ve actually been together since we were 19 years old (13 years)- college sweethearts- and got married after grad school, but my entire adult life has been shared with Damon and God has been so good to me to bless me with such an amazing man. He still makes me feel like his “girlfriend” and he is truly my best friend.Â
I wanted to connect this to my weight loss journey so I scanned a couple of pics from our wedding:
Okay, I can’t tell you what I weighed on my wedding day because I hadn’t weighed myself and truthfully wasn’t interested in dieting or anything during that time so the scale didn’t matter to me at that time. But i can tell you that my dress was a size 24- and it had to be let out for me to fit in it. My BFF (hey Angel!) later shared with me (thank goodness she didn’t tell me before the wedding) that the night before when I tried on my dress, the buttons fail off!! It was too tight. My arms were tight, everything was tight. My mom ended up staying up all night sewing them back on and I never knew (my mom is the best). How embarrassing! I had on a girdle, a corset AND support stockings! lol. I say all that to say that while I looked beautiful, man that dress was an adventure.Â
So, fast forward 7 years, I’m working out and losing weight, getting healthy. I no longer wear a size 24, actually wearing size 18w and some 1xs! And my MMO sister Rochelle sent me some of her old clothes that she’s too small for now (yea!) and there were regular size 18s in there and I can fit those too (size 14 here I come!). So, I tried on my wedding dressing this morning, buttoned it all up and look how it fits me now:
IT DOESN’T FIT ANYMORE!!! I SLIPPED THIS DRESS ON WHILE IT WAS COMPLETELY ZIPPED AND BUTTONED! I have a collar bone! lol
I can’t even believe it- but you now, actually I can. To God be the glory because he blessed me to finally get up and get moving, then blessed me with the MMO program- how could I possibly fail?
And to top it off, even with this dress literally failing off me- you know what my husband said before he snapped the pic? “You’re still the prettiest bride”.
Â
Be blessed!
Tuccoa

YOU GO GIRL!!! You already know how proud I am of you! But yes sir… I was the one snapping and pulling away 7 years ago, and when the buttons popped off I almost died!Of course I couldn’t tell the bride, but I ran that dress down the hall (while you changed) and gave it to your mom to fix it quick! LOL …funny thing is you have changed(physically) since that day but NOW manage to look like you did at 18 :O) I cannot wait to see Tuccoa at her goal! I won’t say the finished Tuccoa because you know that you have a new lifestyle to go with that new look! Don’t ever change! You are my sister!
Love you,
The BFF
I can’t even believe those pics are you - you are a completely new woman. I have also found my collarbone - is that thing sexy or what? I’ve actually lost count doing reps at times because I’m staring at this collarbone I’ve never seen before. We are going to be so hot - ok hottER! You rock. Keep on going - you are an inspiration. BTW You are lucky to have a hubby like that - it definitely got an “AW” from me!
Tuccoa you’re story here is beautiful - thank you for sharing with us, with everyone! I’m a little teared up at that last bit, ‘you’re still the prettiest bride..” I mean can we all just take a moment and ‘awwww!”

Tuccoa,
I LOVED that story and you truly do have a great best friend beside you. You looked gorgeous then and you look gorgeous now. I am just happy that you decided to get healthy so that you could share yourself with loved ones for a little longer.
Happy Anniversary to and your soul mate!
Awww. Your hubby is sweet. Wait til he sees you on your 8th wedding anniversary. Make him buy you a whole new wardrobe and take you on a cruise.
